Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina says in his suite he is donating his future prize money to help his homeland.

Svitolina, which is ranked 15th on the world tennis list, is not currently in Ukraine. An emotional letter published by Svitolina is addressed to her homeland.

– Ukraine, you unite us, You are our identity, You are our past and our future. We are Ukraine.

Svitolina criticizes the tennis community in an interview with Eurosport.

– I think the tennis community should work better. In the past, when the tennis community came together, we solved things and helped the world know the stories.

The Ukrainian Tennis Association is calling for action

According to the news agency Reuters, the Ukrainian Tennis Federation (UTF) urged the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to immediately separate Russia and Belarus from the organization and to ban Russia from participating in team and individual tournaments.

To this, the ITF comments that it will act quickly and eliminate all events from Russia for the time being. The ITF also said no events will be held in Belarus during 2022.
