Once the complete schedule of the group stage of the UWCL is known, Barça has decided that the highest competition for women’s football clubs will return to the Camp Nou with a duel in style: Barça – Bayern on matchday three.
With the activity of the men’s Barça on ‘stand by’ due to the break caused by the World Cup in Qatar, the Camp Nou will be free to host the match against which it will be the great rival for the first position in Group D. It will be on November 24 at 6:45 p.m.at a time that will once again be conducive to trying to repeat the atmosphere that was experienced in the two games that were played at the Barça Coliseum last season, against Real Madrid and Wolfsburg, which brought together 91,553 and 91,648 spectators, respectively.
You won’t be the only one
The club’s idea was that all the women’s Champions League matches would be played this year at the Camp Nou, provided that it was possible to combine the men’s and women’s matches. There will be no problem in playing the duel against Bayern or Rosengard (December 21 at 9:00 p.m.) due to the aforementioned World Cup break, but the same will not happen against Benfica on the first day of the group stage. Benfica visits Barcelona on October 19, but the men’s club will play their interweekly LaLiga match only one day later against Villarreal and, due to a break on the pitch, it is not recommended that both meet on the same stage. That first day should be played, therefore, at the Estadi Johan Cruyffusual home of women’s Barça.
