*** (Three stars)
The mileage title is parody of what the mile-long title seems to show: the thrillers of a lonely woman with mental problems who looks at something and imagines terrible things that may be true.
Kristen Bell is not only likeable but also a well-timed comedian, and the idea works except that, once we get the hang of it, the matter of it being a series (miniseries, anyway) implies taking one of two paths: delving into the absurd until the extreme or include mystery and suspense.
In either case, the format forces the commonplace, or rather the commonplace squared, which means laughing at the commonplace. That dilutes the comedic effect and flattens everything until what originally had its own thing became something much more conventional than it seems.
