The winner of the men’s 44th Istanbul Marathon has been announced – Breaking Athletics news



The 44th Istanbul Marathon, titled “The only intercontinental marathon in the world” and included in the “Elite Label” category by the World Athletics Association, has started.


In the men’s, Kenyan athlete Robert Kipkemboi won with a time of 2:09:37, breaking the course record.


For the N Kolay 44th Istanbul Marathon, the track and connection roads were closed to vehicle traffic. For the organization, July 15 Martyrs Bridge was closed to vehicle traffic at 03:00 and all roads on the track were closed to vehicle traffic as of 06:00. July 15 Martyrs Bridge and the roads on the track will be opened to vehicle traffic gradually from 12:30.

The winners of the 44th Istanbul Marathon in N Kolay will be awarded 20 thousand dollars each. Second place in the marathon will receive 10 thousand dollars, and third place will receive 6 thousand dollars. Among the Turks, those who finish first in the marathon will receive the 30 thousand lira, the second place 15 thousand lira, and the third place 5 thousand lira N Kolay special award.
