“Increasingly, attacks by wolves are taking place behind approved wolf grids,” the foundation writes in the letter. “Recently there have been eight attacks in approved wolf-resistant grids in the area of the Drents-Friese Wold. We can now speak of a wolf crisis, because reality is catching up with the wolf plan.”
BIJ12, which registers and handles the wolf attacks, has a processing backlog of six months. “As a result, problem wolves can continue to unnecessarily cause victims,” says the We(s) with Wolves Foundation, which calls both the wolf attacks behind approved grids and the slow handling of damage unacceptable. That is why they call on the Provincial Executive and Provincial Council to solve the problem situations.
