The extreme heat is gripping southern Europe. Spain has had a few particularly hot days, but Italy, Greece and Turkey are also suffering from high temperatures. In Greece and France this even led to forest fires and evacuations.
Meanwhile, the whole of the Netherlands has been on summer vacation since Friday and many holidaymakers will go abroad. The ANWB warns of long traffic jams on the popular holiday routes abroad, and Schiphol is also preparing for a busy weekend.
