The Weeknd hinted at new music from him over the weekend. Taking to Instagram, the superstar posted an instrumental snippet with no vocals (but with choirs) that could be part of a new song. The audio track was illustrated with an “Avatar” logo and the date “12/16/2022” – so it’s not unlikely that Abel Tesfaye, The Weeknd’s real name, will contribute a track to the soundtrack of James Cameron’s upcoming blockbuster.
“Avatar: The Way Of Water” is scheduled to start in German cinemas on December 14, 2022. Its predecessor “Avatar: Aufbruch nach Pandora” was released in cinemas in 2009 and is the world’s most successful film of all time in terms of box office earnings. Further parts are already in planning and production.
The Weeknd released their latest album DAWN FM earlier this year. In July and August 2023 he wants to give four concerts in Germany.
