“Aviation must become more sustainable, that is really necessary,” said Meiltje de Groot, director of Groningen Airport Eelde, on Monday at the presentation of the Ground Power Units at the airport. One party was the big winner of the elections: the BBB. As a newcomer, the party managed to win no fewer than seventeen seats in the Drenthe states. The mega profit for the BBB resulted in substantial losses for the established parties. For example, the VVD and the PVDA dropped from six to four seats and the CDA only has three seats left in Drenthe.
The Northern Netherlands police announced on Friday that two employees from Drenthe have been fired for serious dereliction of duty outside of duty. For one of the employees, it concerns behavior in a relational sphere, for the other it concerns serious dereliction of duty in the private sphere. What exactly this entails is not known by the police.
