It is not the first time that the consultant appears on social networks using firearms for shooting practice. Last year, a reel was shared on Instagram, uploaded by Caputo’s own instructor, called Sebastian Floreswho usually publishes videos of his students, who are going to learn how to shoot with firearms at his school on 700 Piedras Street. According to the @Tecprocom account, the instructor is a former grenadier specialized in armory, with an extensive career in training members of the different armed forces. Specialized in combat shooting, its course has six modules: initiation, precision, draw, dynamic, extreme short distance shooting and low light practice.
For quite some time now, Caputo has cultivated a public image as a “tough consultant,” but outside of the political sphere he has quite personal passions, such as motorcycles and his well-known taste for having numerous tattoos on his body. Most of these body inscriptions are inspired by the work Russian Criminal Tattoo Encyclopaediaassociated with criminal symbols of the Slavic country. Among them is a curious tattoo in Russian with the phrase: “A cabin, a country house and a savings book, a boat, a car and a garage will calm my whims.”
Among the most commented personal traits of the consultant is his smoking habit and his ability to watch numerous police series or political stories. Many sources mentioned that he is a follower of the screenwriter’s work. Aaron Sorkinwho wrote the series The West Wing and of the saga Peaky Blinders. On the other hand, his academic training varied over the years, it is said that he had studied Computer Engineering at the National Defense University with the hope of joining an intelligence service, although that objective was frustrated, which led him to switch to a career in Political Science. His personal hobbies show him as someone with a clear identity, distant from the traditional profile of an official, and his political pragmatism made him a key player in the initial configuration of Milei’s government.
The recent internal implosion caused by the consolidation of the wing led by the Secretary General of the Presidency pushed him to the background. He lost command in many of the areas he controlled and his influence over central decisions was significantly reduced. What until recently was his throne, today seems limited to a behind-the-scenes consultant, with residual media power.
