Berlin’s outdoor pools need more and more security companies. A comment from BZ editor Stefan Peter.
Quite a few families will have to do without Mallorca or Warnemünde this year.
Inflation does not stop at the summer vacation either. As an alternative to the outdoor pool? For some people this is no longer an option. Constantly new incidents of violence are a deterrent!
How bad the situation is became clear in the House of Representatives. The bathing establishments use 170 employees from private security companies so that the bathing fun is not disturbed. It costs one and a half million euros a year, but it’s just not enough.
Now the interior senator wants to make more money available.
It is shameful and appalling that it has come to this. The Greens and the Left like to trivialize the problem. Politicians must urgently take the issue of juvenile violent offenders at the pool more seriously!
