★★★★ The scenic translation of the TV program, more than a play, is a theatrical phenomenon like years ago the Buenos Aires billboard did not have. It is enough to attend one of the performances that are offered with sold-out tickets in the eleven weekly functions to prove it.
Already in the preview, where merchandising is sold on the sidewalk of the theater that includes everything from photos of the performers to glasses with the logo, the public attends a real party in which they not only enjoy seeing their idols on stage, but also who actively participates by clapping and getting involved in every wink he receives. Seventeen years have passed since the show stopped filming, although it never aired, which helps the bond with the audience remain intact and the characters have become cult.
The simple plot of the proposal, written by Axel Kuschevatzky and Diego Alonso, based on the characters of the American sitcom “Married with Children”, follows in the footsteps of Pepe Argento (Guillermo Francella), his wife Moni (Florencia Peña) and the offspring of the family (already quite grown up) in charge of the brothers Darío and Luisana Lopilato. Added to them is the mere neighbor Dardo Fuseneco (Marcelo De Bellis), conveniently separated from María Elena (a role that Érica Rivas was in charge of in the Telefe broadcasts) now dating the French Azucena (Jorgelina Aruzzi). Even the legendary dog Fatigue, who went to heaven a long time ago, participates in a hilarious way in the show.
True to its television roots, here the situations are more important than what happens on stage and it all begins when the Argentos, that corrosive x-ray of the Argentine family, meets their neighbor who returns from abroad and finds out that he has fallen in love with her. Azucena, an empowered Frenchwoman, vegan, who doesn’t agree with machismo. Obviously, throughout the night, this will release a series of funny circumstances based on different misunderstandings in which current events are filtered and that accentuate the politically incorrect humor that viewers enjoy so much.
The celebration would not be possible without Francella and Peña, two top comedians with the exact timing for comedy. He, even more acid than on TV, is a master in the use of gestures and puns. She once again demonstrates her skills not only as an actress but also as a dancer. The incorporation of Aruzzi is a discovery and they accompany Lopilato and De Bellis without being out of tune.
