USA continues to take steps to intensify its technological war with China. The government of Joe Biden has stopped granting licenses export American companies to stop trading with the Chinese tech giant Huaweias advanced this Monday by three sources familiar with the discussions with the administration at the ‘Financial Times‘.
The Department of Commerce would have already notified these companies of a new blockade with which it intends to suffocate the Asian multinational based in Shenzhen, which it accuses of helping beijing in their labors espionage and of posing a threat to national security. Washington’s ultimate goal would be a complete ban on trade relations with Huawei.
It is not the first time that the US has hit Huawei. In 2019, the then president donald trump it placed the company on its blacklist and restricted the commercialization of American technology. That blockade then affected the export of telecommunications networks 5G and required all domestic companies that wanted to do business with Huawei to apply to the government for an export license.
However, the White House did allow companies like Qualcomm either Intel supply Huawei with technologies such as 4G semiconductors necessary for the manufacture of mobile phones smart.
