Jack Hermansson hopes that more free athletes would open their mouths about it.
Freelancer Jack Hermansson warns young competitors in his social media video about the “weigh-in doping” that takes place in the smaller organizations of the sport.
In professional organizations, the pre-match weigh-ins are organized by the match organizer, but in the most modest circles, a digital result taken at home is also sometimes accepted.
In the video, Hermansson shows how he makes the scale, which is broken at the corner, show his own weight significantly lower. When he then steps on a healthy scale, there are ten kilos more on the digital ones.
– Do not accept video weigh-ins. It is easy to manipulate on the scales, writes the middleweight man representing Norway.
Hermansson says that he is completely convinced that kicks are used to good effect in freestyle and other martial arts.
According to him, it involves tacit acceptance.
– Many people know about this, but only a few say that this is not acceptable, he complains to Dagbladet.
The man who has fought in the UFC since 2016 underlines the fact that cheating creates a health risk in matches when two opponents of different sizes enter the cage.
– Weight classes exist for a reason. And I see that kind of weight manipulation as a bigger offense than a doping violation. Definitely worse, says Hermansson.
