Aharon raised his autistic son, Uri, by himself after separating from his wife. He learned to decipher his messages, to appease his outbursts, to heal his wounds. For the symbiosis between the two, Nir Bergman, co-writer of the most copied Israeli series in history (Be Tipulfrom which In Treatment), takes it as a model The Brat by Chaplin.

So when the court requires father and son to separate to facilitate Uri’s entry into a facility where he will be able to socialize with his peers, Aharon – who sacrificed his emotional life and career to fatherhood – chooses to escape.

The road movie, to the beaches of Eilat and back, forces them to get in touch with the outside world, from which they had hitherto kept shelter. Change for which the father finds himself less prepared than the son. An uplifting and non-derailed film.
