The same day that TVE held the three-way debate between Pedro Sánchez (PSOE), Santiago Abascal (Vox) and Yolanda Díaz (Sumar), with the absence of Alberto Nunez Feijóohe Information Council of the public entity has expressed its support for the journalists who last Monday, Silvia Intxaurrondo and Marc Sala, they interviewed the leader of the PP in the program ‘The Hour of 1‘, and that they have received the critics of the PP.
In a statement, the TVE professionals expressed their “stupor and rejection before you want they criticize the exercise of journalism”, as well as “the attacks directed at them and that attempt against the independence and neutrality of RTVE”.

The Council recalls that the exercise of journalism “is simply and simply the obligation of media professionals, by virtue of the right to information and for the benefit of all of society.”

Also the Federation of Associations of Spanish Journalists (FAPE) and the Madrid Press Association (APM) They denounced these “attacks” on RTVE workers and supported their work after the tweet of the PP’s Institutional Vice-Secretary, Esteban Gonzalez Ponscharging against the public corporation after the interview with Feijóo.
In the interview, the PP leader stated that his party had always raised pensions according to inflation and that it had done so even when it was negative, a fact that Intxaurrondo refuted, saying that it was not correct, and whom the popular candidate asked to review his information.
Feijóo admitted hours later that he made an inaccuracy, but he did not lie, and pointed out that “the PP raised pensions every year without linking that increase to inflation.”
