The Tucumán gin Jardín Escondido gave a ‘hit’ at the Argentine Open

The 21,000 people who were at the Olivos Golf Club yesterday witnessed the resounding victory of Mason Andersen (USA) over the top candidate Kris Ventura (Norway) at the 117th VISA Open in Argentina and celebrated in style, combining the passion for sports and the enjoyment of recreational activities with gastronomic, musical and consumption of goods and services proposals. And, at this point, the Jardín Escondido gin stand played a prominent role, entertaining professional players and members in the house of the historic Buenos Aires club.

Golf and leisure. The spectators who watched the shots on the grass of the 18th hole from the VIP, had the pleasure of tasting the drinks of the official bartenders of Jardín Escondido, a distillate manufactured in Tucumán by Javier Gramajo and Hernán Mendonça, businessmen who bet that their SME would have presence at the Open.

A Country Brand drink that did not go unnoticed at the great party of the seventh oldest open in the world, organized by the Argentine Golf Association, which, for the first time, was on the calendar of the Korn Ferry Tour, a tour that precedes the PGA TOUR and distributed U$D 1 million in prizes.

Javier Gramajo was enthusiastic when he observed that his creation “hit hard” at the historic golf course that is among the “100 Best” outside the USA: “it was pure satisfaction because there was the public that was interested in our gin. A demanding consumer. We maintain our presence in the Argentine golf circuit, as we already do in NOA rugby and polo because we are interested in reaching buyers who demand quality.”

In turn, Hernán Mendonça said: “we reached competitive markets such as BA, Santa Fe, and Córdoba. We add Entre Ríos, San Luis, San Juan, La Pampa, Misiones, Salta, as well as Tucumán, where we were born. We are in wine bars and for gastronomy we have a special presentation that makes a very competitive price for a premium gin” and that is why “we were at the Open with a stand in the main canteen to serve gin to an audience that is connoisseur of good drinking and “which preserves the tradition of the camaraderie meeting after the competition.”

Marcos Aldazabal, responsible for the House of Olivos Golf Club, Meet and Eat and the Palta and Emplame restaurants, said: “it was an excellent experience having Jardín Escondido. We got very good comments about the gin” and he predicted that the Tucumán product will continue to make its way into Buenos Aires bars.

Nicanor Castro Videla, representative of Jardín Escondido in BA, stated: “Marcos Aldazabal graciously opened the doors to our gin due to its quality. He had a nice gesture with an SME from the interior that bets on the country” and said that “the response of this public was a 10. Dazzled by the quality and curious to know that one of its creators, Hernán, who is also linked to the world of golf , decided to create a drink that unites his two passions: gin and golf.”

Hidden Garden:

Slogan: “In the land of independence, rebellious spirits with strong roots are born. We distill the essence of this terroir, its history and its people…”

In 2022 it won the title of Best London Dry Gin from Argentina in London. And in 2023 she took the Silver Prize in England.

It is a Tucumán Brand and a Country Brand.

It has an aromatic, floral and very citrus profile, based on Tucumán botanicals: orris root, lemon peel, orange peel, yerba bona, hibiscus flower, jasmine flower, rose buds and orange blossom. And it incorporates exotics such as juniper berries, coriander and black pepper.
