Definitely in its own territory, that gray area between truth and manipulation, Huppert is a joy to behold as union organizer Maureen Kearneya high-ranking Areva official who in 2012 was found tied and hooded at home after having been raped.
Salomé, with whom Huppert had already filmed The godmother in 2020, it makes its protagonist a European Erin Brokovich caught in gears much bigger than her.

In fact, at stake is the transfer of French nuclear power to China, but the director does not go beyond the protagonist’s personal story: Kearney was accused, and ultimately acquitted, of staging the attack. The great state scandal remains, nebulous, in the background.
