Andrea Rooth has won, among other things, the World Championship gold for under-20s in the 400-meter hurdles.

He was amazed by Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm’s training routines, which are known to be quite intense.

Rooth trained with Warholm’s team and told the Norwegian for Dagbladet training sessions have been long.

– It was completely crazy and hard as hell, but clearly it works. I remember thinking during practice that the practice would take half an hour, but they did it for almost two hours. I was just wondering, are you serious, Rooth recalls and continues:

– I had no food with me. Their (training) program is really tough.

However, Rooth stated that eight-hour training sessions are not for him.

– On those days, I get the most out of it when I train at the highest level and intensity. I train shorter, but with high quality. The number of hours is not decisive, but the content of the exercises and what works best for each individual.

– I also train for several hours every day, but I divide it into day and evening sessions. I like to relax at home and do schoolwork between exercises. The sessions easily last four hours, but there is a break in between.

Dagbladet has previously told how Warholm sometimes trains between 10:00 and 18:00.

Before the upcoming World Athletics Championships in Budapest, the amount of training has only increased. Warholm has said that a big training load works for him and they have been increasing the training volume with small things.

Warholm is once again the gold favorite in the 400 meters at the World Championships starting on Saturday.

Earlier this summer, Rooth ran for the gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles at the under-23 European Championships in Espoo.

Andrea Rooth was amazed at the length of Warholm’s practice sessions. PDO
