Planica’s WC track was salted before the sprints. According to Lauri Vuorinen, the measure did not help.
The sun and high temperatures have plagued Planica’s WC track all week. Skiers have described the track as bumpy.
The race organizers decided to salt the track just a moment before the start of the sprint qualifying. The purpose of the salting was to harden the track’s surface.
Disqualified Lauri Vuorinen gave a strict judgment on the farm.
– It felt the same as before. No trace of salting was visible. You wouldn’t believe it was salted, the skier wondered.
Usually, the track is salted well in advance, not a moment before the race.
– Such a really soft and slow track has been here every afternoon. I don’t know that much about these, but I have understood that the salting should be done earlier than right before the race, Vuorinen updated.

Also Swedish Calle Halfvarsson criticized the salted banana. According to him, it was difficult to get ahead on the track.
– It’s sick that this is allowed to happen in value competitions. The competitions should preferably be held in Svalbard (Svalbard), he uploaded to Expressen.
Salting is a familiar gimmick from warm games. The track was also salted in the previous World Championships in 2021.
