The third suspect also remains in the cell for attempted murder in Blankenberge

Two other suspects appeared in court on Tuesday. The victim was hit with a hockey stick and is still critical almost two weeks after the facts.

In the night from Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 November, a 31-year-old Slovak, together with another man, caused a nuisance in dance café Circosia in Blankenberge. The duo was taken out by two staff members, but the victim reappeared moments later. When he had to leave the business again, he would have pulled out a knife outside. Porter HA (38) sustained an injury to his hand. He then fetched a hockey stick and a wooden beam, which he handed over to waiter SV (29).

At some point the Slovak must have run away. He was not only chased by the two employees of the dance bar, but also by a customer who happened to be smoking there. KS (34) knocked the victim down by doing a paw patch. A little further on, he received heavy blows to the head, including with a hockey stick. The victim was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. His condition is still critical.

Shortly after the facts, SV and HA were arrested as suspects. The 29-year-old Blankenbergenaar would have stated that he hit the head of the victim once with the wooden beam. His older colleague used the hockey stick, but the Tunisian from Brede denies that he dealt blows to the Slovak’s head. His gun reportedly broke into three pieces when he threw it away. A few days after the facts, KS was also arrested. De Bredenaar insists that he was not involved in the actual violence, but according to the other suspects he would have kicked anyway. The defense asked in vain Friday morning for him to be released under conditions. The arrest of the other suspects was already extended by a month on Tuesday.
