The semi-finals of the Masters 1000 tournament held in Miami, USA have been completed.
Medvedev (seeded 4) defeated Karen Khachanov (14) 7-6, 3-6 and 6-3 in sets of 7-6, 3-6 and 6-3 and reached the finals in the men’s singles match between Russian tennis players.
The finalist of the tournament in 2021, Sinner (10), managed to eliminate the last champion, Spanish Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner won 2-1 against world number 1 with sets ending 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 and became Medvedev’s opponent in the final.
Rybakina (10), champion of Indian Wells in women’s singles, beat world number 3 US Jessica Pegula 2-0 with sets completed 7-6 and 6-4 and reached the final.
Kvitova (15), on the other hand, made her mark in the final by defeating world number 74 Romanian Sorana Cirstea 2-0 with 7-5 and 6-4 sets.
The women’s singles final between Rybakina and Kvitova will be played tonight, and the men’s singles final between Sinner and Medvedev will be played tomorrow morning.
