During a check on the A2 near Boxtel, the East Brabant Traffic Police, in collaboration with the Tax Authorities, were able to collect almost 78,000 euros in debts. Thirteen vehicles were also seized, eight of which were immediately removed.
Traffic was scanned in both directions with so-called ANPR cameras. Such a camera records license plates of passing vehicles. The police use these images for automatic license plate recognition, also called ‘automatic number plate recognition’ (ANPR).
Anyone who had something on their record was taken off the road by motorcyclists. The police issued a total of 26 reports. In addition to collecting tax debt, fines were issued for, among other things, excessive loading, slippery tires, driving without a driver’s license, a car without registration, a baby loose in the car and a fine for keeping the telephone in the car.
