The tax administration warns of scam text messages promising tax refunds and asking you to click on the link “to get a refund” asking you to click on the link on the website.

According to the tax administration, scam messages made on its behalf circulate regularly. Criminals who make messages in particular become more active when tax issues are on the agenda anyway. The latest posts began circulating in early May, when the deadlines for filing a tax return for employees were in place. Many people who have completed their tax returns are currently awaiting a decision on final taxation.

The taxpayer reminds that in order to pay for any refunds, it is advisable to check that the bank account number is stated in OmaVero.

Returns already in the summer
Dates for tax refunds or any residual taxes, or staggers, are at different times for different people. The first refunds will be paid as early as July, but most in August-September. Refunds will arrive in bank accounts in December at the latest.
The payment dates for all tax refunds and staggers are not yet known. Payment dates will be determined from the final tax decision.
