The Take That star was dropped from England’s Pride event because of his Facebook likes

The musician known from the band Take That Howard Donald, 55, is no longer welcome at Groovebox’s Pride event. Donald was due to perform at the event in Nottingham, England on Saturday June 29, but will now be replaced by another performer.

Pride reasons Instagram-in his publication, his decision due to Donald’s recent behavior. Sky News – magazine, the announcement refers to Donald’s Facebook likes, which have caused a lot of confusion recently.

For example, Donald has highlighted his previous Twitter like, which called for disbanding Disney after organizing the Pride event. In addition, Donald liked a publication with a transphobic message: “Only women can have periods, neither men nor trans people can”.

Donald was also found to like a disreputable social media influencer Andrew Tate From a Twitter post where a man claims that “a boy’s only superhero should be his father”. Donald has also liked Tate’s publications, which talk about being trans- and fat-phobic and share conspiracy theories about the corona pandemic.

Following Pride’s decision, Donald has deleted his Twitter account and shared an apology text Instagram– in his story, which can be seen for 24 hours after its publication.

– I have made a huge error of judgment when I liked social media publications that are derogatory towards LGBTIQ+ people. For that I am deeply sorry, and I know I have disappointed everyone very much,” Donald begins his Instagram story.

– I am very disappointed in myself and I apologize to everyone for the pain I have caused by my ignorant actions. I clearly have a lot to learn and it is my priority to learn from this, Donald says in conclusion.

The British group was supposed to perform in Helsinki’s Kaisaniemi Park on June 27, 2023, but the concert was canceled in May by the event organizer. The reason for the cancellation was reported to be problems arising from the band’s tight schedule. Take That’s biggest hits include Pray, Relight My Fire, Patience, Back for Good and How Deep Is Your Love.
