The musician known from the band Take That Howard Donald, 55, is no longer welcome at Groovebox’s Pride event. Donald was due to perform at the event in Nottingham, England on Saturday June 29, but will now be replaced by another performer.

Following Pride’s decision, Donald has deleted his Twitter account and shared an apology text Instagram– in his story, which can be seen for 24 hours after its publication.

– I have made a huge error of judgment when I liked social media publications that are derogatory towards LGBTIQ+ people. For that I am deeply sorry, and I know I have disappointed everyone very much,” Donald begins his Instagram story.

– I am very disappointed in myself and I apologize to everyone for the pain I have caused by my ignorant actions. I clearly have a lot to learn and it is my priority to learn from this, Donald says in conclusion.

The British group was supposed to perform in Helsinki’s Kaisaniemi Park on June 27, 2023, but the concert was canceled in May by the event organizer. The reason for the cancellation was reported to be problems arising from the band’s tight schedule.
