For the second year in a row, Tappara is aiming for a place in the finals of the hockey CHL. Tappara’s long-term goal has been to win the hockey Champions League CHL. Last season, the team came within a couple of goals of their dream by losing to Rögle 1–2 in the final. Now the people of Tampere are aiming for a place in the finals for the second year in a row by facing the Swiss EV Zug in a two-part semi-final duel. Tappara has been doing well in their home league and the team has already risen to second in the standings after a rough start to the season. Vire is in good shape with three consecutive wins.
