The World Cup match between Sweden and Denmark saw a special ice-cream on Monday.
NHL confirmation of Tre Kronor Lucas Raymond was in the changing room when a teammate Jacob de la Rose tackled Denmark in front of the bench Patrick Russell. Sitting still, Raymond grabbed the stick of the Danish striker.
Russell had to wriggle out of Raymond’s grip. The foul play did not go unnoticed by the referee, as the NHL star was whistled a two-minute suspension for holding onto the opponent’s stick.
Swedish public broadcasting company on SVT’s broadcast Raymond got towels.
– Unnecessary chill. That shouldn’t happen. The head coach Sam Hallam not happy with this, expert Mikael Renberg said.

Raymond explained the strange freeze after the game. According to him, it was about self-protection.
