The Swedish racing sister destroyed Kerttu Niskanen’s top ranking: “Drive me to the project”

The Finns’ performances on stage 3/7 of the Tour were reasonable. Linn Svahn wedged Kerttu Niskanen.

Kerttu Niskanen there was something left to be done about the final solution of stage 3/7 of the Tour de Ski. Before the Toblach stadium area, the Finn was in a group of eight women, the best of which were divided into two and three places on the podium.

– I tried to tighten up a bit before the stadium area, when I knew that there are such hard sprinters in the loess. I got in the bag and Linn Svahn drove me to the project, so to speak. We ran out of space and the business went to waste, Niskanen lamented.

Kerttu Niskanen remained in the Swedes’ bag. Jussi Saarinen

He finished eighth in the 20-kilometer free pursuit. The gap to the podium was about four seconds. The event was started based on the combined results of stages 1 and 2.

– It was fine. I thought that the Rosie Brennan catch me and I will go to heaven with him. That’s where it came from Emma Ribom. Then it was a group of Swedes and me. It felt quite light in places, but the maintenance service told me not to jerk when a big group is coming from behind. And so it happened.

Bad dreams

Krista Pärmäkoski is going to take a nap. Jussi Saarinen

Krista Pärmäkoski didn’t quite get into the fight for the podium.

– It was a little disappointing that I couldn’t squeeze. That took a lot of seconds. I felt that the pace was quite moderate. Everyone probably respected the weather a little. It was probably my salvation, when I wasn’t shot so terribly hard. After the illnesses, the competitive sensitivity is still not right, commented Pärmäkoski.

He finished in 10th place according to his starting number.

– Let’s go to Davos. It’s usually a nice place. I was thinking of taking a nap since I slept so badly last night.

Good taste

Jasmi Joensuu left a good taste of the skiing competition on the first day of the year. Jussi Saarinen

Jasmi Joensuu was the 25th

– It wasn’t a bad performance for a free normal trip. The last time, a year ago, I skied more than 10 kilometers in a free race in Oberstdorf. It even left a pretty good taste, Joensuu estimates.

The Finn’s main trip in the Tour is next Wednesday, when the free sprint will be held in Davos. The only question mark is the competition height of over 1,500 meters.

– It was really good that the condition lasted and there was no clotting. If it had coagulated, it would have told about the waning of energies.

Good model

Anne Kyllönen plans to model Perttu Hyvärinen. Jussi Saarinen

Anne Kyllönen said before the start of the season that the goal is to return to the top fight.

At least the goal has not yet been achieved. He started in 37th place and finished 31st.

– It was quite difficult to leave today. One of the most important races was on Sunday and it went badly. Tests motivation and attitude. On the other hand, I have longed for intact free races. It felt like there would have been a chance to ski a little harder on Monday. But it didn’t make sense to go alone, Kyllönen said.

Where do you get your motivation from?

– I just want to be better. When you know you have done things well, there is a chance. When it’s a good day and good skiing, anything is possible, like Perttu Hyvärinen on Sunday showed.

Vilma Ryytty was the only Finnish woman who suffered from skiing accidents on Monday.

– I don’t know if I got any experience. Didn’t really get to do my own skiing. It was really good skiing for the body, but bad for the equipment. Too bad, he reported.

Ryytty was 48th in the final results.

The Tour de Ski continues on Wednesday in Davos, Switzerland.
