Swedish football player Abdullah Talal Hameed has disappeared in Budapest, reports Aftonbladet.

Hameed, 27, was last seen on Monday, but now Hungarian police have launched an investigation to find him.

– We are really worried, Hameed’s sister Ditto Hameed said to a Swedish newspaper.

Hameed’s father Talal Hameed has traveled from Sweden to Hungary to look for his son.

Hameed signed a one-year player contract with Croatian HNK Gorica on August 10. He was excited about his move. Earlier in his career, he has played in several different clubs and most recently represented the Hungarian Zalaegerszegi TE FC II team.

He was supposed to travel on Monday from Budapest to the city of Velika Gorica, Croatia. Before his disappearance, Hameed had spoken to his agent For Dragan Sekulic and told that he was preparing a trip to Velika Gorica. He still owns an apartment in Budapest.

However, he never arrived there.

– His family and HNK Gorica ask anyone who has any information about Hameed to report it to the nearest police station or club. The player drives a white Porsche Taycan with Swedish plates, HNK Gorica said on his website.

According to the Croatian newspaper Sporske Novosti, Hameed’s car has been located in Hungary, but the police did not want to give more details about the search.

Hameed’s sister Sama Hameed instead told Aftonbladet a little more information.

– We are very stressed. We know the police were inside his apartment with dogs on Tuesday, but they found nothing of interest.

Hameed has both a Swedish and an Iraqi passport. He traveled to Sweden as a child and has played there at the third highest league level.
