Veysel İlhan (31), who approached Yusuf Emir Bolat (9), who was sitting in front of his house with his friend in Bursa, on a bicycle, sprayed pepper gas in his face and was caught by the police at his home, was arrested for 6 separate crimes. İlhan, who has 25 criminal records against him, was identified by the T-shirt he was wearing on the day of the incident and the bicycle he was using. It was determined that İlhan, who had 3 pepper sprays in his house, attacked 5 more people the same way he attacked Yusuf Emir Bolat.
The incident took place on October 29, around 17.30, in Yakut Street, Dikkaldırım District, Osmangazi district. Yusuf Emir Bolat, who studied at Trabzonspor Football School, was sitting with his friend in front of his house, chatting and eating ice cream, when a person approached them on his bicycle and allegedly asked him, ‘Wow, are you from Trabzonspor?’ said. Upon Yusuf Emir’s “Yes” answer, the suspect said “Trabzonspor is a loser” and walked away, spraying the pepper gas on the child’s face. After the incident, which was captured on a workplace security camera, Yusuf Emir was crying under the influence of pepper gas, and medical teams were dispatched to the address upon the notice of the neighborhood residents who heard the sounds. Yusuf Emir Bolat was discharged after his treatment at Bursa Uludağ University Hospital, where he was taken by ambulance.
Yusuf Emir Bolat, who was shocked by the incident, said, “We were sitting and eating ice cream with my friend. A man came to us on a black bicycle. He said, ‘Are you from Trabzonspor?’ I said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘Trabzonspor is a loser,’ and sprayed me with pepper gas, then ran away.” While mother Sonay Baş wanted the suspect to be caught and sentenced to the heaviest punishment, Trabzonspor Club also published a statement. In the press release titled “We will follow up on this incident”, it was stated that “An unidentified person in Bursa first insulted our 9-year-old Trabzonspor Football School student and then sprayed pepper gas on his face, which is an unacceptable attack. He was treated in the hospital due to the effects of the pepper gas.” “We wish our young fan who witnessed the incident to get well soon, and we would like to announce to the public that we will follow up the matter so that the person who carried out the attack is caught as soon as possible and receives the necessary punishment.”

While an investigation was launched into the incident upon the family’s complaint, the police examined the security camera footage and determined that the suspect was Veysel İlhan. The suspect, who has 25 records for various crimes, including ‘looting’ and ‘battery’, was caught and taken into custody during a raid on his home yesterday. During the searches at the house of İlhan, who did not accept the accusations against him and said, “I have nothing to do with the incident. I am not the one in the images,” the T-shirt he was wearing on the day he used pepper spray, as well as 3 pepper sprays and his bicycle were found.
HE WAS ARRESTED FOR 6 DIFFERENT INCIDENT
While it was determined that there were 5 complaints against Veysel İlhan, stating that he had previously committed a pepper gas attack, İlhan, who was referred to the courthouse today, was arrested and sent to prison by the court.
In the statement made by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, it was pointed out that İlhan was arrested for 6 different crimes and said, “He was referred to the Bursa Criminal Court of Peace on Duty with a request for arrest on 6 different incidents related to the crimes of ‘deliberate wounding against the victim who was unable to defend himself’ and ‘deliberate wounding with a gun’.” “The Bursa Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty issued an arrest warrant for the suspect Veysel İlhan for 6 different incidents.”
