Flora, the eldest of the director’s four children in common with Emma Thomas, gives life on the tape to a character with a chilling story
oppenheimer of Christopher Nolan, which will hit Spanish theaters this Thursday, July 20, has a stellar cast thanks to cillian murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr. or Florence Pugh, among others. But also, the film has the participation of Nolan’s daughter in a chilling role.
Nolan has given an interview to The Telegraph in which he said that Florathe eldest of his four children in common with Emma Thomas, gives life on the tape to a woman whose face is destroyed by a nuclear explosion. According to the outlet, Flora’s character appears in a vision of the protagonist in which “his face is flayed by a white light”.
“The filmmaker’s daughter went to spend a week on the set and they signed her for the role. “We needed someone to do that small supporting role of a somewhat experimental and spontaneous sequenceso it was wonderful that she just did it,” Nolan said.
“I hope it doesn’t sound like Michael Powell’s Panic Photographeradded Nolan. In the 1960 film, Powell counted on his nine-year-old son to give life to the young version of a serial killer, while the director himself played the sadistic father of the child. “To be honest, I try not to analyze my own intentions. But the point is, if you create the maximum destructive power, it will also destroy those you love and are close to. So I guess this was my way of putting it in what, to me , were the strongest possible terms & rdquor ;, Nolan said about the decision to cast his daughter for the role and the relationship that his signing has with the plot of oppenheimer.
