The superstar appeared next to the Finns: a big announcement from Reetta Hurskee

Reetta Hurske believes that the level of the heats of the 100-meter hurdles is tougher than normal.

This summer, the domestic top four in the 100-meter hurdles Reetta Hurske, Lotta Harala, Annimari Korte and Nooralotta Neziri has been in competitive condition for a long time at the same time.

However, the sparring aid has not been utilized as well as one might imagine.

– I have been able to take departures, but… Hurske laughs.

– Everyone has had quite a lot of injuries. Depending on the season, how the systems match is shaped. The wishes would have much more in common, he continues.

Hurske and Harala both represent Tampere Pyrintö.

– Unfortunately, we have been able to train together quite a bit. It’s good that you can get sparring help during the training season, says Harala.

At the weekend, the Finnish duo prepared at the same time for the beginning of the World Cup in Budapest and did a similar training. The company was tough.

For Hurske, the World Championships in Budapest are the third of her career in the adult series and on outdoor tracks.

At the beginning of June, Hurske clocked a Finnish record of 12.70. At the end of July, at the Kaleva Games, he stopped the clocks in a headwind at 12.85.

The Finnish star expects a lot from himself. He states his goals clearly.

– I will be really disappointed if I don’t get to run two runs. The feeling is like that. In Lahti, against a small opponent, 12.85 was a reasonably good performance. It is possible to run harder.

– There are no obstacles for the race day to be good, he continues.

The preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles are only run in the evening instead of in the morning. However, it is not visible in the weather, as 34 degrees of heat and only sunshine have been predicted for Budapest.

Hurske maintains a strict level of results.

– Often 13 seconds have been enough for the semi-finals. I bet time can sink under it now. The score level is tougher in the afternoon than in the morning heats.

Harala runs in the second heat, Hurske in the third heat.

– I wish I was awake when the gun went off. Hurske knows that you can’t give hundredths to your friends by staying on the racks to take a nap.

The best four from each round advance. Four women still get a place in the semi-finals through time comparison.
