The extremely popular track and field athlete Alica Schmidt opened up about her financial affairs earlier this week.

The 400-meter runner said on his TikTok account that Tiena doesn’t earn enough from sports to live on. Because of that, he and many other German athletes have had to develop other sources of income.

German Olympic champion Christian Schenk does not digest Schmidt’s speech at all. Schenk, who won the Olympic gold in the decathlon in 1988, accuses Schmidt of disrespect.

– The publication of an influencer and a “top athlete” terrifies me. I want to say to every young and old track and field athlete: track and field is a serious and respected individual sport with team moments and years ago it received the highest recognition among the general population. It will always remain a key Olympic sport, Schenk wrote on his Facebook account- According to Blick.

– This disrespectful publication does not bode well. We will have less success if athletes are motivated by money.

Schmidt himself Earns through social media in addition to sports. He has almost 4.7 million followers on his Instagram account.

Boss sponsored

Schmidt has won European Championship silver in the under-20-year-old 400-meter relay and European Championship bronze in the under-23 relay, but there has been no success at the adult level.

Schmidt still makes more money than many other German athletes, because the woman’s main sponsor is, for example, the fashion giant Bossin.

Schmidt’s following exploded in 2017 when Busted Coverage magazine named him “the sexiest athlete in the world.” Before the election, Schmidt only had 12,000 followers, but after that it quickly grew to over a million.
