Almost a year after the scandal caused by its creation, the European Super League will return to the fray. This was reported by the British newspaper ‘Telegraph’ on its website, noting that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus will lead the relaunch of the tournament.
The aforementioned media reported that Andrea Agnelli, president of the ‘Vecchia Signora’, will be in charge of announcing the news at a summit this week with other important sports figures, thus confirming the intention to go ahead with the idea of forming the stellar European club football competition.
However, the regulations announced last year will have some modifications, according to what ‘Telegraph’ pointed out. Clubs will no longer have the right to be permanent in the tournamentand they must earn their classification according to the local leagues they play, like any other continental competition.
At the moment, Barça, Juve and Madrid are the ones that represent the flags of the Super League. The Premier clubs have not spoken again after threats from the league about possible expulsion if they went ahead with the idea.
