Four times winner of the world’s strongest man title Brian Shaw says that he is seriously ill.

Shaw’s leg became badly inflamed in January. The powerlifter tried to survive at home, but the situation took a turn for the worse.

– I got a really, really bad infection. I took antibiotics at home. I thought they would cure the inflammation. It didn’t happen, Shaw says in the YouTube video he published.

– In the end, the pain was so bad that it was difficult to walk. I had to come (to the hospital) for a check-up.

It was almost impossible to heal the leg.

– The biggest thing is that the inflammation didn’t reach my bloodstream. If I had waited longer, it could have happened. When the inflammation gets into the bloodstream, the end result is not as good. It would possibly mean amputation, Shaw reveals that doctors have analyzed the situation.

In bad condition

The video showed Shaw walking around the hospital with a drip stand. The skin on his left leg was dry and purplish yellow. Of course, nothing came of the training.

The strongest man in the world still tried to go for a walk and eat quality food five times a day.

– This has been frustrating in many ways. I don’t get to go home at all to spend time with my family, he commented.

Shaw spent several days in the hospital, but made a full recovery. He participated in the World’s Strongest Man competitions in South Carolina from the 19th to the 23rd. April and ranked seventh.

Shaw will end his powerlifting career this year. The American won the title of the world’s strongest man in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016. In the previous games, he was fourth.
