Any help, whether nearby or thousands of kilometers away, is needed, because the pressure on GPs is increasing in an aging province like Drenthe. The work pressure is high. So high that, according to the National Association of General Practitioners, enough is enough. That is why there will be protests on 1 July on the Malieveld in The Hague.
An additional problem is that it is difficult to find a follow-up for a departing GP. The ‘old-fashioned’ medicine, where one GP has a practice, is no longer of today.
