The host of Eurovision will be an actor known from the Sex Education series.
The first semi-final of Eurovision saw three female presenters: the Ukrainian superstar Julia Saninasinger Alesha Dixon and an actor Hannah Waddingham48.
Definitely the most colorfully dressed presenter of the semi-final, Waddingham is known especially for Netflix Sex Education -series as Sofia Marchetti. In addition, he has performed Game of Thrones – in the fifth season of the series and Hocus Pocus 2 in the movie.
Waddingham has received three Olivier Award nominations for his work and has been awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for his role in the comedy series Ted Lasso.
Energetic Waddingham charmed the audience especially with his singing skills. Independent-magazine, in one of the intermission sections, Sanina taught Waddingham how to rock. The lesson included an air guitar session and the iconic rock note screeching, which Waddingham excelled at. Waddingham’s singing skills may be explained by the fact that the actress has a background in musicals and her mother is an opera singer.

Waddingham’s language skills also aroused admiration in the audience. Waddingham explained the voting instructions in French, after which he left a humorous comment.
– Look at Europe, some British people take the trouble to learn other languages, Waddingham stated, referring to the generally poor language skills of English people.
