McLaren went a long way in the Miami GP last weekend to make the team’s F1 car as light as possible.

Temperatures of about 30 degrees and high humidity were promised in advance for the Miami race weekend.

Almost all F1 stables have had difficulty getting the car to fit the new weight limits. McLaren’s gimmick didn’t help in the race as Ricciardo finished 11th.

The penalty dropped Ricciardo to 13th place. The result was disappointing as the driver originally thought he was driving for World Cup points.
– After crossing the finish line, I really thought I was tenth. It is difficult to know the ranking because there is a struggle everywhere. I counted in my head that I had passed enough cars to be at points. However, that was not enough.
– We weren’t fast enough.
Ricciardo was also surprised by the punishment he received.
– I remember being with Haas a few times. I think we had good fights. I’m not sure why I’m 13th, he said fresh.
