The ‘shooting’ at a residential care center in Waalwijk was also preceded by a stabbing on Friday evening. This is reported by the police. That happened during an argument. A 19-year-old man from Drunen was stabbed. A man from Berkel-Enschot (19) has been arrested.
What exactly happened is still unclear. The police think that the two had a fight, in which the man from Drunen was stabbed. He was not injured in the process. A suspect was arrested for the assault on Saturday, the man from Berkel-Enschot.
Whether that stabbing is also related to the shooting that is being investigated is not yet certain. Shots were heard on Friday night at the Antoniushof residential care center on Vredesplein in Waalwijk. Officers then went to the square. But no injuries were found. There were five bullet casings on the street.
Now it turns out that those bullet casings are the cartridges from an alarm pistol. This was shot into the air and not aimed at a person, according to a police investigation.
