The 70’s Show actor Danny Masterson was sentenced at the beginning of September to 30 years in prison for the rape of two women.
His spouse Bijou Phillips was by her husband’s side in the courtroom during the trial, but now Phillips has decided to file for divorce.
– This period has been really difficult for the relationship and the family, Phillips’ lawyer tells TMZ.
The couple have a 9-year-old child and have been married since 2011.
– Masterson has always supported Phillips during the difficult times of his life. Phillips emphasizes that Masterson is a wonderful father to their daughter, the attorney says.
Masterson was heard in court for the first time in November 2022, when three women accused him of rape. According to the women, the rapes took place between 2001 and 2003.
Masterson was eventually convicted of raping two women, one of which had the charges dismissed.
The actor was first accused of rape in 2017.
Masterson is best known for playing the character Steven Hyde on That 70’s Show from 1998 to 2006. He was one of the main stars of the series together Ashton Kutcher’s and Mila Kunis with.
At the beginning of the year, a Netflix spin-off 90’s Show appeared from the series, which features numerous original actors. Masterson will not be seen in the new series.
