Saint Louis City beat Austin at home in the first meeting in their history

The Seattle Sounders feasted this Sunday in its debut in the 2023 MLS season, beating the Colorado Rapids 4-0.
In the campaign in which seek revenge after failing to qualify for the postseason in 2022 for the first time in 13 years, the Sounders overwhelmed the Rapids with goals from the American, of Salvadoran origin, Cristian Roldán, the Brazilian Héber Araújo and a brace from Jordan Morris.
Two headed goals, one from Roldán and another from Morris, both after a rebound in the penalty area, raised the light 2-0 before the break and left the Sounders’ victory on track. Héber and Morris definitively sentenced the clash in the second half.
It was the only game of the first day of MLS played this Sunday, after the campaign opened on Saturday with thirteen games and notable victories for Atlanta United, Inter Miami or Saint Louis City, who beat Austin at home in the first duel in its history in the American league.
The first day will be completed this Monday with the Portland Timbers-Sporting Kansas City, in a match initially scheduled for Saturday and postponed due to the heavy rains that are falling these days on the West coast of the United States.
Another game affected by the rain was the Los Angeles derby between Los Angeles FC and Los Angeles Galaxy, which will finally take place on July 4.
