Jenni Hiirikoski was injured in the Swedish final. PDO

The final of the Swedish hockey league took a scary turn on Sunday. Luleå’s Finnish player Jenni Hiirikoski35, got a skate blade in his neck during a game.

Hiirokoski immediately fell on the surface of the ice, reported, among other things SVT.

The match between Luleå and Brynäs was stopped a few minutes before the end of the third period. An ambulance was called to the scene.

– Some of the players are crying. A very unfortunate incident, editor Dusan Umicevic said on SVT’s broadcast.

Good news soon came. Umicevic reported that Hiirikoski’s wound was not deep and the situation was brought under control. The head coach of Luleå said the same Jens Själin.

First aid arrived, and Hiirikoski was carried off the field on a stretcher.

– The situation is under control. That’s the only thing I know. That’s why the game was continued, Själin said.

At the time of the accident, Luleå was leading the match with goals 4–3. It eventually won the match 5–3 and leads the final series with 2–0 wins.
