the simulated test for all of Alpha Test

Ststudents, we change. From 2023, the formula for the admission test to the Faculty of Medicine has been completely renewed and becomes TOLC-MED (while TOLC-VET is the test for aspiring veterinarians). No more appointment in September, there are two sessions, face-to-face, in front of a PC: from 13 to 22 April and from 15 to 25 July (you can participate once per session). Registration for the first session, to be made on the Cisia website, remains open until 3 April. You can enroll in the fifth grade but also in the fourth grade. But how to prepare for a completely new modality? Help comes from Alpha Test, which from 21 to 27 March provided an online simulation very faithful to the official test, free of charge. At the end, a ranking will be published which will be all the more significant the more participants there are.

A student prepares for the simulated test of the Medicine test with Alpha Test.

But how does the new test that will be managed by Cisia, the inter-university consortium that supports universities in providing admission tests, work? The Medicine tests will be held in the university chosen by the candidate, which may be different from the one he chooses to attend. The test will last 90 minutes, divided into different disciplinary blocks: 7 text comprehension quizzes and knowledge acquired in 15 minutes, 15 biology quizzes in 25 minutes, 15 chemistry and physics quizzes in 25 minutes, 13 mathematics and reasoning quizzes in 25 minutes.

The peculiarity of the TOLC-MED is that each disciplinary block has pre-set times, at the end of which the software automatically moves on to the next block. An additional difficulty for students, who have to get used to managing time differently from that of tests in class. The simulated test of Alpha Test exactly follows the official system, passing from one block to another at the right moment. Also identical evaluation: 1 point for each correct answer, 0 for the answer not given, -0.25 for the wrong one.

A large number of applications from aspiring doctors can be expected again this year. On the first day of reservations on the CISIA platform, 13 March, 72,000 girls and boys had already registered, of which 92% for Medicine and 8 for Veterinary. But don’t worry, there’s room for everyone.
