The Shirt Dandy, the Viennese start-up that makes custom shirts for men in India, is kicking off the new year with a newly launched website and an AI-based configurator that makes customization easy.
After customers have determined the fabric of their shirt depending on their preference for material, season, fineness and weight, they can make further customizations: For example, the type of collar, buttons, placket or cuffs determine whether their shirt has a breast pocket or a monogram should have or not and even the color with which the buttons are sewn on.
New AI configurator shows changes in real time
Using the AI-based configurator, customers can see in real time what their choice will be and change it as often as they want before making their final decision and placing the order for their tailored shirt. Prices range from 3,490 to 13,990 rupees (around 38 to 153 euros) and are competitive.
Customers are thrilled: “Nothing in my closet compares to the fit of The Shirt Dandy shirts. I used to buy ready made shirts but after trying custom made ones there is no going back. The entire process with the 3D configurator and the appointments at home is simple and smooth,” says Rebant M.
The service doesn’t end with the purchase – if, contrary to expectations, a shirt doesn’t fit perfectly, the necessary changes will be made immediately when you try it on at home or a few days later. If a customer’s size changes over time, this is also taken into account: “Even after I lost some weight, they were able to alter my shirt for me and re-take my measurements to ensure that all future shirts would fit perfectly,” confirms Shantanu J.
New strategic partnership with Smart.mom
The creative and digital agency Smart.mom, with which a strategic partnership was recently concluded, is helping to enter the Indian market. This provided The Shirt Dandy with significant support in terms of appearance such as corporate identity, development of the website and the brand’s visual language.
A consistent presence on the Indian market is now to be established through targeted digital communication measures. This also includes the opening of the first digital signage store in Delhi later this year. The first interactive showroom is to be opened in Vienna.
“At the current stage, we see little potential to make The Shirt Dandy’s business model in Vienna sustainably profitable. We will therefore finance our market entry in Austria at a later date through business in India. Identifying these strategic synergies has taken our collaboration to a new level. Smart.mom’s expertise in personalized digital customer interaction and digital signage will help The Shirt Dandy present its innovative fashion in a unique way and reach customers at different touchpoints in a completely new way,” comments Thomas Hebenstreit, Managing Director of The Shirt Dandy , in a press release.
