The series ‘La barraca’, this Easter in La 2

The television adaptation of the barrack baby from the success of reeds and mud, the first novel by Vicente Blasco Ibáñez successfully brought to the small screen. The same production company, Aldebarán Films, and practically the same technical team embarked on the adventure of reissuing the success of its predecessor, reports RTVE.es.

The Barrack premiered on Spanish Television on October 1, 1979, in the prime time of a Spain without private television channels and a time when, according to a study carried out by the Ministry of Culture, watching television was the preferred cultural activity for 87.9% of Spaniards.

The series, directed by León Klimovsky and produced by Eduardo Manzanos, was shot in ten weeks with a budget of between 80 and 90 million pesetas. The writer and filmmaker Manuel Mur Oti adapted the story to television language.
