Silja Kosonen the gold medal at the under-23 European Championships in Espoo came with very special throwing equipment.
Kosonen’s throwing glove was decorated with a pole vaulter Wilma Murron signature.
– This is a bit of a special glove. It flies, Kosonen introduced.
– We were once in Kuortane after the race, when we visited Erkkola’s Sannen with asking Wilma for some numbers. There wasn’t much else, so I asked for a glove.
Viljami Kalmari
Kosonen has not yet signed Murro’s fishing tackle. Maybe that day will come sometime.
However, Moukarinainen’s autograph is still taking shape.
– I’m trying to make it more like an adult book. It has a nice drawing of the moukari too and my result. I’ll write it under it. I have to remember to change it every time there is a record, he said.
Nimmari will probably be changed often in the future.
– It varies a lot. Sometimes you can recognize the whole name from it, and sometimes you can’t find out anything about it. Maybe it will even out someday.

Kosonen’s coach Jani Pihkanen it was a little too much to get excited about the opening throw of his protege’s 73.71. It was a competition record and remained Kosonen’s best throw of the competition.
– Jani said that maybe you can congratulate now. Of course, he still didn’t congratulate, Kosonen revealed.
– Yes, I told him that you never know. However, he was up against tough opponents. Any of them can throw far. But I was pretty confident about it. It would have required a lot from them, even from second place to improve their record by more than a meter in such a competitive situation. It’s not easy.
Throughout the race Kosonen had a big smile on his face.
– When you throw something like that for the first time, you can really enjoy the race. It was a fun evening.
– Kelikin was good. Appropriately cool, but it wasn’t cold. And when it didn’t rain during the race, it was almost optimal conditions.
The European Championship winner enjoyed the performances of other Finnish stars in the moukari place. The evening produced a total of four medals – the ones that came during the day by Eemil Helander in addition to the medal.
– I tried to shout to everyone there at the moukari place. I watched the other games quite well, Kosonen said.
The thrower rated the gold thrown in front of the home crowd in Espoo as the number one among his young competition medals.
