Chairman of the Russian E-sports association Dmitri Smith told the Russian news agency Tass in an interviewhow the sanctions on the ground caused a variety of difficulties for the union. However, one was above the others.
“The worst attack came from the Finnish Supercell,” Smith shook in an interview published on Monday.
Smith said Supercell sent a letter to the union in which it denied using its games in the union competitions. He did not mention exactly when Supercell presented his dungeon, but said it had happened after a “military special operation”, that is, when Russia attacked Ukraine.
“At that point, we had organized Clash Royale competitions for years,” Smith says, and regrets how Supercell was not interested in the work done by the union and the Russian players who did well in the game.
The ban still annoy
Supercell removed its game from app stores in Russia and Belarus in the spring of 2022.
According to Smith, the union would even be ready to even pay for the use of the game in official competitions.
“We believe that the use of the game should not be denied,” he said.
Smith told Tassi news agency that there are not so many games in Russia that competitions could be organized solely.
– In general, I also find it wrong to limit competing only to Russian games, as it would lead to isolation.
