Morocco made history tonight by becoming the first African country ever to qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup. Dozens of Moroccan football supporters gathered again tonight at InterSnacks in Weesp to watch the match together. Owner Mo Bouhali (38) can only shout with happiness: ‘It’s a big madhouse here’ he says with a hoarse voice.
Just like last week it was again very busy tonight at the cafeteria in Weesp. Then they saw how Morocco won against Spain and therefore qualified for the quarterfinals. Now they saw how the ‘Atlas lions’ wrote football history by winning 1-0 against Portugal.
Mo: “It’s just amazing. I’m so proud.” From a full house, dozens of supporters cheer loudly even after the game. And that will continue for a while, thinks Mo, who is also hard at work in the meantime.
“I also have to get rid of the striker and therefore have to work for a while.” But, after the rush hour it is also a party for Mo. “I drive home quickly where a house full of family and friends is waiting where we will celebrate this great victory until late tonight.”
