The singer, who was born Veronica Bennett, founded The Ronettes in the late 1950s with her older sister and their niece.
The group, which eventually broke up in 1974, scored hits with songs like be my baby, Walking in the rain and Baby, I love you.

Famous producer Phil Spector was responsible for most of their hits. Ronnie was married to the producer who was later convicted of murder from 1968 to 1974. “As I have often said when he was alive, he was a brilliant producer, but a bad husband,” the singer said after the death of her ex-husband almost a year ago.
After the end of The Ronettes, Spector also released several solo albums, but she was unable to match the group’s success. Her latest album, English Heart, was released in 2016.
The singer leaves behind her husband Jonathan Greenfield and their two sons.
