Un kidnapper arrested, a child released. Family intrigues come to the surface and apparently solid families are in danger of breaking apart. Four episodes tonight, instead of three
The road of silencenew Greek-produced thriller series (Filmiki Etairia, distributed by Beta Film), usually aired three episodes per episode. In this fourth and final appointment, however, four are planned, for this reason the episode will last beyond midnight. Staying awake will be super easy.
The road of silence: the plot
The road of silence is a thriller with psychological implications. Everything revolves around the disappearance of a school bus carrying nine elementary school children, the driver and a helper. The country, a small community in West Attica, is shaken. Investigations involving local authorities and elites are triggered. The missing children, in fact, are all children of some of the most important families in the area. It looks like a kidnapping for extortion purposes, so much so that criminals get to ask for one hundred million euros, instead, slowly, a psychological drama is revealed that hides a revenge. And double lives emerge (to know what happened in the previous episodes click: first episode, second episode, third episode).
The road of silence: previews of what happens tonight
The first episode on the air is called Countdown. Start with one of the kidnappers, Michalis (Nikolas Papagiannis) who, on the run, manages to avoid being arrested. Agitated, he contacts the “orchestrator” of the kidnapping of the school bus and with him decides to put an end to the affair by contacting the police to ask for a ransom with a definitive deadline.
Right now Thalea (Penelope Tsilika), journalist who informally investigates the disappearance (also because among the kidnapped children there is Aristea, his niece, sister’s daughter Athena) is shocked: she discovers that the man she had had contact with so far, Michalis in fact, is one of the kidnappers.
The police, however, try to buy time, they want to identify the “mind” of the kidnapping, “The orchestrator”.

At this point the personal story of Athena (Anthi Efstratiadou) who, in previous episodes, he had discovered, had betrayed the husband Vassilis (Christos Loulis) because still tied to ex-husband, biological dad by Aristea. But she had also been in a relationship with mayor Niketas (Giannos Perlegas), looking for a clarification, which ended badly, with his wife Manto (Vicky Papadopoulou). Now Athena reveals to sister Thalea the real reasons he left Vassilis.
Meanwhile, the country is shaken by another earthquake: a corruption case linked to illegal mining activities is discovered.
And on the front of the kidnappers the situation becomes complicated: Alkis, one of children gets sick and the police manage to discover the place of the hiding place.
Hunted: the desire for revenge is total
In the second episode, Hunted, the corruption scandal leads to a series of arrests. And the police are able to understand that these illegal activities are linked to the kidnapping of children and also to an old accident in the mine work in which an employee of Spyros (Antonis Kafetzopoulos), father of Thalea and Athena. Vassilis’ plan of revenge (which in the previous episode it turned out has a double life) continues with perhaps more vigor.
But it is on the front of the kidnappers that the unthinkable happens: the compactness of the group breaks down, Michalis, despite the contrary opinion of the “orchestrator”, brings the sick child to the hospital so that he can save himself.
Separate paths: the child is saved and the hiding place is discovered
Separate paths is the third episode that begins with little Alkis who, after being treated, although still in hospital, is better. The parents Manto and Niketas they can finally hug him again after nearly a month, and the police have valuable information from him to find the other kidnapped children.
Meanwhile, Vassilis does everything to persuade Athena to pay the ransom for the liberation of Aristea.
It all ends with the Manhunt
The last episode, Manhuntis a tumultuous, the most suspenseful. Athena she is not convinced to pay the ransom, she does not want to hand over the money to Vassilis. Michalis he is about to give in, confessing what he knows. And in the hiding place the kidnappers are waiting for the creator of the plan to sanction its end.
Between revelations and tragic events, the police manage to identify the “orchestrator”. He’s about to be arrested, but he doesn’t want to give up. And another unexpected event shakes the family of Thalea, Athena and Spyros.
